Loving service is truly the panacea for all ills afflicting human society today. By the very nature of their profession, doctors are continually engaged in service. When combined with loving care, the service can be raised to a level of devotion. In such loving service, , lies the power to heal the patient, and open for oneself the pathway to God — to realize one’s inner divinity.
The five teaching Techniques are an integral part of the methodology for inculcating the values among children. These techniques have been trial tested in several schools for the past few years, and their impact have been found to be very deep and long lasting. The use of these techniques in the classroom require a teacher to be proficient and versatile in the communication aspect. Moreover, it is very important to remember that the impact on children is directly dependent upon the teacher’s faith in the system and practice of these techniques in daily life.
The concern has been expressed all over the world that commercialization of medical activities is harming the very fabric of human relationship between the doctor and the patient. It is now realized that Education in Human Values as a part of medical curriculum could provide the necessary inspiration and direction to future doctors thus sanctifying their profession and work.
This Institute prepared a Curriculum module for Human Values inputs in the M.B.B.S. courses two years back. It was tried out in local Colleges; the feedback from students and faculty members was very encouraging. It has been further refined, and two-day Orientation Workshops for the Teaching Faculty have also been organized.
