This book is the second in a series of publications undertaken by the Institute of Sathya Sai Education, Mumbai. These two books along with others to follow form a complete package of materials for use by schools, teachers and educators in India for implementation of the programme of Sathya Sai Education for Human Excellence.

A word of caution seems necessary. The content of this book is primarily intended to serve as a background information to the teacher, not to be transferred to the students as such. Moreover, a real understanding of the values will emerge only when the teacher himself is engaged in regular Sadhana (spiritual discipline).

This book has been written to fulfill these objectives. The techniques for activities in the classroom and practicing values outside the class will form the content of the books to follow.
