This book is the fifth in a series of publications of the Institute of Sathya Sal Education, Mumbal, India. It is part of the complete package of materials for use by schools in India implementing the programme of Education for Human Excellence.

The Lesson Plans are intended to help the teacher conducting a class based upon the Direct Teaching method. The five teaching Techniques and a variety of Group Activities such as stories, songs, quizzes, role plays, creative work, etc. provide the teacher much resource material and ideas to conduct the class with confidence. The lessons have been trial-tested in actual classroom situations in English Medium schools in Mumbai. They are sequeneed according to the student age groups.

Accompanying audio cassettes are now being prepared for the English songs. However, an experienced teacher can always make appropriate changes and add new inputs from the local environment and available resources to increase effectiveness of the programme.

It need hardly be emphasised that the teacher should use the materials with conviction and understanding for a deep impact on the pupils. This requires the teacher to practice the values he/she preaches. The Direct Teaching approach is a powerful application of the principle of Human Values Education when employed by the teacher with Love and dedication.
