While the objectives of wisdom, culture and knowledge are freedom, perfection and love, respectively, Sri Sathya Sai Baba says that the sum of all these qualities is EDUCARE, and its objective is character development. The kind of character development postulated by Him is life, power and true holiness. Only those students who obtain good ideals and good conduct, and adhere to truth like disciplined persons, are truly educated. Sathya Sai schools make men of character and virtue.

All around the world there is a growing interest in the philosophy and practice of Sathya Sai Educare. From Argentina and Australia to Zambia, Institutes of Sathya Sal Education have been established to assist schools in the implementation of the Values curriculum and in starting Sathya Sal schools. In India, over seventy schools with the sacred name of Sri Sathya Sai are functioning. In addition, a very large number of schools under private and government management are implementing the Sathya Sal Human Values curriculum in one form or other. There is an urgent need to coordinate and consolidate the efforts. The Institute of Sathya Sai Education based in Dharmakshetra, Mumbai, is now working in this direction.
